There is a lot of egomania going on around here, so I figured I should take a moment to make a statement about it...


People tend to get obsessed with popularity on deviantart _{(and other areas of life, of course)}, and innumerable people harbour an immature, selfish bitterness toward those who seem to "hog" all of the attention.

....Excuse me, but this is ridiculous; I have even seen stamps that say "'F' you" to popular artists.
GET OVER YOURSELF.

I can understand if there happens to be someone who gets popular for submitting the lousiest, most immoral dirt you can think of, or if they get popular for offensive/stupid fanfiction/pairings or whatever, or if they are frustratingly unoriginal/uncreative/redundant and yet popular, but if you are going to hate something about them, hate the work, not the person, and just leave them alone.
Besides, there are many artists who are good people with beautiful, original works who happen to become popular.


Seriously, the world does not revolve around material possession, talent, or popularity, nor does it revolve around you, so stop wishing it did.



Which is more important to you: what everyone else thinks about you and your works, or what God thinks, hm?

Whatever the case, I can tell you this: it's not how many faves/comments your work gets, it's what you do with your work.
