Also, this stamp addresses a similar issue: --------- Now, in regards to how this stamp applies to me... Conservatives and/or Christians are increasingly rare today... and those that remain are incessantly in conflict with liberals that mindlessly scream, "OMFG FUNDAMENTALISM IS TERRORISM, YOU F*CKING BIGOT!!1one!1" ~ noun 1. the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. Since when did Conservatives and Christians use violence and threats to assert our original morals and laws? Terrorism is the very opposite of the Conservative/Christian lifestyle/mindset. If anything, those who participate in blind rebellion to force liberalism are the ones who use violence. noun, plural -ries. 1. stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own. In what part of "I do not support your views/opinion" or "I strongly disagree" is there stated "I do not tolerate you whatsoever"? Granted, some people can be extreme... ridiculously extreme, but just because some people are stupid enough to say things like, "Death to all gays" doesn't mean that that is how all fundamentalists are; in fact, a real Conservative/Christian looks down upon such disgusting words/actions. -------------- -------------------------- As a Biblical Christian, I am NOT here to shove my beliefs down your throat and tell you that you're going to Hell if you don't agree with my views... but that doesn't mean that I am going to shut up and never speak a word about my beliefs, either. People assume that Christians only believe/support their views because the Bible says so, while, supposedly, they lack any logical reason behind their beliefs; this isn't true, and I try to make that evident... not only for people who don't understand, but also for fellow Christians who need that encouragement. My goal is not to throw my opinion in everyone's face (or at least I don't want to make that impression, although I inevitably have), rather, my intentions are a matter of wishing to explain/reason... When I assert my perspective, it differs from a large number of instances in which one insists on their views, such as if one says, "Fundies make me want to hump the same sex!" A lot of opinionated statements, arguments, advertisements, stamps (and so on) are just rude, for the sake of personal-gratification, and often driven by emotion.... That's not what I'm going for. Unless one is of a sound, mature mind, one almost always takes personal offense when someone, even a stranger, disapproves of their thoughts. I have never said that I "hate" anyone because they don't agree with me... and if anyone chooses not to agree with me, I don't mind. People have a choice, and I have absolutely no interest in forcing anyone to do anything against the decision that they make. -------------------------- -------------- ~~ Besides... isn't labeling Conservative/Christian views as "unacceptable hatred" and having no tolerance for those views.. bigotry in and of itself? ~~ Disapproval ≠ intolerance. Disapproval ≠ hatred. Disapproval ≠ bigotry. Period. |
